Question about rigging plastics
I typically post in the South and Big Bend regions, but am working on a project and need help from all over the state! I am doing market research for a UF project in my graduate program that is researching the market potential of a new type of weedless screw-lock/circle-hook rig for rigging soft-plastics. The idea is that the product will prolong the life of your soft-plastic, but more importantly result in less gut-hooking fish while using them as compared with other methods. It would help tremendously if you could answer a few questions with an honest answer.
1. Do you see an advantage in using a screw-type mechanism for rigging a soft-plastic such as the one shown below, or currently use one, or do you prefer a traditional worm hook?
2. Have you ever considered rigging a soft plastic with circle hooks or do you currently? What has been your experience with rigging this way or similarly? Something like this:
Your input is highly appreciated!!
