Out of Caxambas Pass @ 6:50am with a water temp of 70.6f.
Started at a little mangrove island. First cast with magnum pop-r, hand size jack.
GF is throwing a Spro white bucktail, first cast...hand size jack.
Made it to the other end of the island. Hand size jacks and 12" ladyfish.
And then the no-see-ums came for breakfast on us.
Got bad enough so off to the SE corner of Cape Romano. 1 snook on a popping cork/shrimp that went 18"
After that Bucktails, curl-tails, Mirrodines, swin baits. All ignored.
Into Blind Pass....After 15 minutes of more breakfast for the bugs, to the bubble houses.
Nothing. Back to the inside island. Bugs gone. 3 short trout, lots of ladyfish, jacks and a grunt.
2/3 of an inshore slam. 2/3 of a trash can slam. Could not complete either.
Is a catfish, jack, ladyfish, lizard fish a trash can grand slam? If so, the GF had 3/4 of that.
Water was really nice. Gulf flat, clean water almost everywhere.
Sorry about no big this or huge that. Started nice and then fell off the cliff!
for all the posters out there.....good luck with the 800 million Powerball.
PM me if you win. Could use a 22-foot Pathfinder, Ranger, Skeeter, etc......!!
Be safe. Tight lines!

Sprayed bug spray right on my face and got out the Yard Guard for a sweep of the boat several times.
That works good ...for about 3 minutes...
