I have seen some small mussels, maybe an inch while looking for oysters and then I found a 3" plus empty shell. I looked and looked for a proper ID of it and it seems like a blue mussel but the internet doesn't show them any where near Florida. I hear green mussels can be found around Tampa but I am sure it was not this. The FWC website only talks about freshwater mussels. So what is it and if I find more can I harvest them? Also I would be happy to harvest the invasive green mussels ( help remove them from the environment by eating them). If anyone has info on where and if I legally can take them. Thanks
