Take away the 4 worst hell holes of progressive entitlement cities out of the equation and gun violence in this nation becomes rare.
If parents are stupid enough to blame the tool instead of the user then they also need to give it a rest.
I am not willing to surrender my freedoms toward a response that will accomplish NOTHING so they can feel better and **** progressives can feel like they have accomplished something.
Well here are the 10 states with the most gun deaths per capita. Now, are any of the cities you are thinking about in these states?
10 states with the highest firearm age-adjusted death rates were: Alaska (19.8), Louisiana (19.3), Mississippi (17.8), Alabama (17.6), Arkansas (16.8), Wyoming (16.7), Montana (16.7), Oklahoma (16.5), New Mexico (15.5) and Tennessee (15.4).
Yes Memphis is in one of those and you are posting up per capita numbers... Compare any of those to Chicago, Detroit or some of your other progressive bastions for total incidents.
So you've actually seen what the executive order is going to be? Please put up a link so the rest of us can read it.
TYIA
As I said in my first post, From what I have read. I was not aware of the need to repeat it on every post. Considering the limitations of executive orders, it is likely what Obama will issue. There is little else he can do that would not be ruled unconstitutional by the courts.
I have a hard time understanding why those numbers don't show Illinois? Is it because the population needs to be big enough to offset the real #s in a specific area?
Chicago doesnt have enough people to spread the statistic out.
Chicago shooting victims
Last updated Jan. 2, 2016
The map below shows where people were shot in Chicago, broken down by community area. Darker shades of blue indicate greater numbers of victims in those community areas.
This data is compiled from reporting done by the Chicago Tribune Breaking News staff and is typically updated more than once per week. Therefore, the most recent shootings may not be displayed immediately.

and most of those homicides were perpetrated by someone already violating the existing gun laws.
more restrictions on law abiding citizens won't change those statistics one bit.
So then, why do we need open carry laws? Why are states being barraged with concealed weapons permit applications? Why are gun sales thru the roof? One might think these are indicators of a need for more "personal protection". Why do so many need personal protection?

two reasons for the gun sales increase.
Righties and the Fear Factor: Since 9/11 Republicans have been pushing the fear button hard. The whole prepper movement started after that
Election of Obama: Righties were already scared. Now we have a Black gun grabbing Liberal for president! He is going to take the guns. Republicans have been pushing that one hard and still are.
So guns and ammo have been flying off the shelves. No one knows when the government might stop the sales of guns or ammunition.
Great political talking point. Hell Hillary is a gun grabbing Liberal. The righties will keep the pressure on.
But reality is no negative gun legislation has been passed under Obama and this Background Check stuff is just political fluff.
Now Hillary hit a nerve. She was talking about holding gun manufacturers liable for people killed with their guns. I believe this has been tried before. How can you hold a manufacture responsible for his product performing as designed with no malfunctions. If they pull this off then we do have a problem

So I sent another $500 check to the NRA!

Well said.
The NRA gets no money from me.I received one of their fear mongering letters yesterday and treated it with the respect it deserved.
Oh yeah. He's coming for your guns. Blah blah blah.
Don't worry you're 40 cal. Sex toy is safe.
You could get rid of your gun so you don't shoot yourself or family member and just roll up a sock and put it in your crotch.
WaterEngineer, Why do you have a problem with background checks and keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally incompetent and people on the TSA watchlist?
whats the proposed guidelines for "mentally incompetent"?
ANyone who ever took an anti-depressant? How many prescription refills of the anti-depressant? 1?10?
Or, someone labeled bipolar? One psychotic episode? 3?
AND more importantly, who is going to keep and track alllllllllll of the legal Americans medical records to determine all this?
Hmmmmm questions questions questions (and a bit of intrusions)
I don't think anything I read in the article would be unconstitutional. What of the items do you think are unconstitutional?
From what I read.
Expanded definition of what is a gun dealer. Sellers who sell over a certain number per year would be required to get a license. Also those who buy and resell weapons with a certain time frame. Depending on the parameters, not sure I would object to this one. There are a lot of unlicensed dealers out there pretending they aren't really dealers. I think if you buy and sell more than a dozen guns a year, you might be a gun dealer.
Guns stolen in transit. I would have thought it was already a requirement for a dealer to report a weapon stolen in transport. The dealer must considered it sold and the buyer responsibility or that of the shipping company.
How do either of these violate the constitution?
They aren't new laws. I would even venture to say that the courts would say they are within the executive powers limitations since they just defined existing laws more clearly.
Did I miss a proposal?
Changing the definition in a law is the responsibility of Congress, not thd president.

I see you are riding the short boat again 16'10. Not surprising.
Doesn't it make you feel all warm and fuzzy to know that the Tyrant-in- Chief is huddling up today with Reichsfuhrer Lynch to invent ways to subvert the will of the American people, as expressed by their ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES and impose HIS WILL upon the nation.

Don't worry man we're not laughing our **** off with you we're laughing our **** off AT you. $500. Hahahaha
Silly boy
If we had a group like the NRA lobbying for for.our fishing rights then maybe the NMFS wouldn't have it so screwed up.
I don't really care if you have no interest in gun legislation. You play your.way and I'll play mine.
