I'm a new member researching Pirahna Boatworks and was wondering if anyone has their 17' model or has anyone heard anything good or bad about this company. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Years back I had a 14 ft tiller version from when the boats were made over by Tampa. It was a phenomenal boat and I miss it - never should have sold it. Well constructed and dry, even in 2-3 ft seas down the Keys. I ran a 25 on it and went plenty fast.
I may be wrong but I believe the business was sold and is in Georgia now.
saw both the 14 and 17 at the Ft Lauderdale boat show. good looking boats, cant speak to the performance, but visually appealing, and the fit and finish was on par with the price they were asking in my opinion.
also, if I remember correctly, their Florida salesman (owner wasnt at the booth at the time) mentioned they were bringing production back to Florida but dont quote me on that one.

No need to be quoted. Their facility is right next to where Velocity Boats used to be produced. Its less than 1/4 mile from my home in Sanford.
About a month ago, drove by and looked like they werent in production yet, but certainly setting up to do so.
