During the spring last year I boated a MONSTER mangrove snapper on a 4/0 mustad hook.About a 10 minute fight on ande 20# with 20# flouro. The fish was 31.6 inches long with a 22 inch girth, official weight was 17.6# after an unfortunate gut gaff and 3 hours on ice, so I decided to have him mounted. My fishing buddy was just telling me that a world record on a mustad hook was worth a MILLION dollars? Well, too late to enter it anyways and the record I believe was recently smashed out of Cocodrie, Louisiana. I have caught a quite a few out of Ponce between 10 & 15 #'s...what's your largest?

its a great story no matter what!!! tight lines!!! personal best mango not near that..... #9 lbs in port canaveral on a large finger mullet on a split shot rig in the cruise basin

Had to bring that up. About twenty plus years ago we spent the night on So. Pelican and right at daylight I see a couple kings sky rocket. So I grabbed the spinner with a short piece of thin braid wire and toss out a dead sardine. After a little while the line starts screaming and heading down. Say what?! Later that day it weighed 12.5 lbs gutted. May have been 14 or better whole. Would have been a world record for several years on 20 lb. pink Ande.
Oh well, at least I got a nice photo.
