Late November and early December a slow time for my charter business with not many tourists here, so out scouting a few times lately, as reported by others the water quality is still poor in most areas of the Lagoon, water levels also still high, some isolated spots do have clear water mainly some wind protected small flats with healthy grass in north Lagoon between some of the islands. Covering ground, using search baits on the hunt for fishy spots to return to with clients, picking up redfish bites along the way from mostly still scattered reds, with high cloudy water not the usual early winter pattern, but have to fish the water conditions we are given. There are some nice trout also scattered around, this 27" waked off a shoreline and ate my 3" Gulp shrimp pitched in her path on a nice warm December day,............................
Blind casting green jerk bait near a mullet school caught a nice 25" speck, on a cooler north breeze day, best to catch, photo, and release on these important breeder trout..............................
