How safe is a pontoon kickboat?

My Dad is mailing me an inflatable pontoon kickboat. He never even took it out of the box in 2 years. It has 6ft pontoons, according to him. Is this thing going to be stable enough for inshore fishing? I'm thinking near Dunedin Causeway... I have plenty of experience in kayaking and canoeing, but none in a kickboat.

Thanks.

Does it come with oars? At that point it's just a small row boat, so I don't see why not. I rarely see them out on open water though, but seen plenty floating down rivers.

I believe it has oars. If not, I'll add some. I am curious how quickly it can move through the water? It appears to be kind of cumbersome.

It will be slower than a kayak

I would not try to use it in any water that has gators your feet might look tasty to them.

I agree, I'm definitely concerned about my feet. Between gators and sharks I'm not so sure this is a craft suited for Florida. I might try it out on some small rivers..
