Weather / wind has been bad and really putting a hamper on work!
Yesterday I ran a 39' SeaVee w quads out of LWI and 4 days before ran a new 340Z.
Also was blessed to do some fishing on MorningstarIII and crushed the gaffers and some kings.
We caught a bunch of gaffers and averaging 1-3 sails per day for past week or so when we can get out
Today I ran a 34' Gamefisherman, and it is a sexy boat!
Got to Jupiter inlet about 7 and RUH ROH. Huge breakers 6-8' breaking across inlet in shallow water.
We waited, timed a set, and still took a good 6-8' breaking wave over the bow. (spooky) :hairraiser
Then seas were fine once past the break and set up in about 180'.
As I set the 3rd bait out we hooked a large bull (easily 20-25++lbs)
Drag got bumped up by accident during fight, and broke stud Bull off 1' from the gaff. :bang head
Reset and within 5 minutes we had a HUGE sail eat the left long w another fish behind him that we missed.
Got a clean release on sailfish and guys were pumped! Reset and hooked another gaffer within 1 minute of lines in. This went on for 90 minutes and we ended up 6/9 on nice gaffers and let some 8-10lb fins go as NOT to be greedy. Heading out on the 34 Gamefisherman in the AM, and planning to run the gorgeous WCY back to Bahamas ASAP! (stay tuned for reports if anyone is interested)... LOL
Birds are great, had a nice Thanksgiving, and peace and love to you and your's .

I do but if you ask 10 captains you may find 1/2 do 1/2 don't.
Personal preference IMHO.
I do it primarily because I hate wind blowing kite baits up in the air.
I also hate wind blowing release clip up the line so I use a bridle band to fix long and middle baits on
3 bait spread.
Also instead of 15' leader I use 8' and a rubber band under float.
Much easier to gaff big meat fish when noone had to grab leader to bring fish close for gaff.
Ps every bite today came on flat!
All the big sportys fishing kites only caught almost nada in the 3 hrs we watched

We boxed some nice gaffers but after i talked to you we LOST a HUGE 35-45++LB HUGER bull dolphin!
