After three solid days offshore it was time to hit the planks as the seas came up. I got there late yesterday and missed what was said to be an epic pompano bite on mostly jigs. I moved to the other side and targeted bluefish which were as plentiful as you could ever want. Almost too easy.
Today I got in on the pompano but for me finding a keeper wasn't meant to be. There were nice keeper fish finding their way over the railing . Just not for me. When the water browned up a bit they slowed way down but some still. Blue runners were thick as fleas. A few jacks, macks and blues were picked by those slinging jigs... As time went by the place filled up and the bluefish got thick again. Some good fish in the mix as well...
No its not hero stuff in the blue but at least some action while pinned to the pilings...
