Cleared Boca Inlet at 6am in my 15ft inflatable with a 20hp. The mission today was to head offshore in search of Dolphin. The seas were 2-3 with some 4-5 ft rollers in the stream. We caught numerous big Skip Jacks and one small Blackfin between the 4-8 mile range.
About 8 miles we came across an area with a bunch of flying fish. A short time later one of our rods we were trolling started screaming. As we picked up the rod we see a big Dolphin jumping in the distance. After about a 20min fight on 12lb test line we had a nice gaffer by the boat. After a carefully placed gaff shot we had the fish in the boat.
After that we trolled out to about 16 miles in search of a weedline. It was very clean out there and we never came across any weeds. We headed back in with a nice fin in the cooler. Total gas burn = 3 gallons

Yea you just have to be careful and make sure the fish is tired out. However, even if the gaff hit the boat the whole boat wouldn't sink. There are multiple air chambers in case one area gets punctured.
