Ok I took my nephews from the UK into the Glades for some Oscar fishing using shiners. Shiners because they have zero experience and I wanted to be sure they caught a decent few fish - all catch and release as always.
Anyway, one hooked into a good fish and manhandled it out of the water and snapped the tip of the rod off - top 6 inches.
So time for a new rod

.
I want it for shiner fishing using a sliding bobber - my preferred method - targeting bass etc.
I prefer to shop at Basspro as I get a good discount on their branded products.
I'd appreciate hearing of your combined experience/recommendations as to the best rod.
Thanks
David

In my tournament line up I have a mainly Mojo Bass but I've got two duckets and they are hard to beat between price, weight, strength and sensitivity. For shiners I would get the same one I use for swimbait's which is also the one I would use shiner fishing. It's the 7'3" heavy action. Your gonna have a very hard time finding a better rod at the $100 price point.
Corrected for rod model
Figure out what you did and did not like about it. Will help in making the decision.
