Sounds like you two have found new homes! Good riddance :blowkiss

"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."
...and don't think I don't love the ..."be 91.12% less likely to be in prison" thing.....I got a whole boat load of "creeps" from East LA.....Detroit, St Louis and Miami who would make that number go to hell in one week.....
Here's some more info on Monaco....for you more "cosmopolitan" types here at FS....
Monaco frequently tops lists as one of the best places in the world to live, and if you are already the proud owner of Monaco real estate, you probably know why.
But for those of you new on the Monaco property scene who are looking to make the move, here are our Top 10 Reasons for living in the Principality:
1. Tax Haven: one of the main reasons why a lot of wealthy people decide to move to Monaco is to reduce the amount of INCOME TAX they must pay. Monaco residents are not subject to tax on their worldwide income.
2. Safety: the Principality is one of the safest places on the earth to live, with a very low crime rate and very high quota of policemen to residents
3. Luxury Real Estate: although only the size of New York’s Central Park, Monaco is home to some of the most luxurious real estate in the world, with its Odeon Tower just being named by the New York Post as the hottest place to live.
4.Beauty: Monaco sits on the Mediterranean coast, sandwiched between the French and Italian Riviera. As a destination itself it is pretty breath-taking, whilst within a short drive are some of the most picturesque and stylish resorts in Europe, such as Cannes, Saint Tropez and Portofino.
5. Climate: the weather in Monaco is another excellent reason for considering buying Monaco real estate. The winters are mild and sunny, whilst the summers are glorious and hot. But the heat is rarely a problem as most luxury apartments in Monaco are either a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean Sea or have their own swimming pool for those all-important cool downs.
6.Business: living in Monaco means that you are perfectly situated to travel to most European cities for business. The Principality is just 30 minutes’ drive from Nice Cote d’Azur Airport, France’s second largest airport and a hub for international flights.
7. Education: families looking for Monaco real estate have a number of excellent schools at their fingers tips, both French-speaking and English. There is also a very highly respected university.
8. Health: likewise the health care in Monaco is second to none, with a number of excellent private and public hospitals and clinics.
9. Sport: for sport fans the opportunities in Monaco are huge. The principality has its own successful Ligue 1 football team, it is home to the headquarters of the International Association of Athletics Federation and plays host to arguably the most famous Formula 1 race in the world.
10. Culture: boasting its own philharmonic orchestra, opera and an award-winning cultural centre, the Grimaldi Forum, those in search of some culture will not be disappointed.
Went to Monaco while in the Nav. Small place. Wide curving blvd that winds its way up a large hillside area (where the casinos are) overlooking an absolutely huge marina. Marina full of yachts/personally owned ships. Jacques Cousteau's ship and museum is/was there. Don't think I saw a car worth less than $200k. Don't even know why they need cars there.
Couldn't afford the casino or find any hookers so we high tailed it back to Nice. :crossed
About 30 years ago I rented a car in Paris and drove to Monaco hitting some wine country on the way. The reason I went was to see the Oceanographic Museum that Jacques Cousteau always plugged on his show. I was a little disappointed overall with it but not unhappy that I went. Driving down the narrow winding road where Grace Kelly died was also a must do. "Couldn't afford the casino or find any hookers so we high tailed it back to........................................ St. Tropez". Actually I didn't look for hookers. I was with my first wife.

If you are retired and want to see the cost of living in international cities, go to https://www.expatistan.com
This is for retired folks that want to price out the necessities of life, which often reflects quality of life. I tried the ifitweremyhome.com website comparing countries and found some of their figures to be inflated in favor of the U.S., especially in murders per 100,000. I think you will be surprised at how many cities are a bargain that are NOT in Latin America or Southeast Asia.
What is the point of any thread in OT, including all of yours?
"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."
I state the reason in mine. This one, not so much. Thanks for playing.
So every thread in OT should state a reason as to why it was posted?

By the way, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer by any means, but it seems to me that the reason for this thread was to bring to the attention of the membership here at FS, an interesting link to a site that provides statistics and or comparisons in different categories to life here in the US versus life in other countries around the world.
I could be wrong though
