I scoped out Marshall's and TJ MAXX for belts. I wanted to try it on, see how it fit in belt loops, make sure it was sturdy and strong. Many holster manufactures, including cross bread, sell belts. I just think it would be a gamble buying online. What if their 34 is really a 32 or a 36? What if it isn't as sturdy as it looks? I'd rather get my hands on them and try them out.
It's been a few years since I looked for cross bread holsters, but they were not available in stores at the time - but they may be now. There are so many variations of firearms that it would be highly unlikely a firearm store would carry a holster for each one. You could check gun shows and you might come across a reseller there, but it will probably cost more, but you do save on the wait times. I would have no problem buying from them online though.

Everyone.... immediately....or almost immediately is blown out of their socks and dies.....
In real like I have seen men lead away in cuffs who had pass-through shots in the chest area and still had to be subdued in order to transport.
Then again....that wasn't a "micro pistol" and as we all know.....Tom Cruise always either busts a cap in your skull or straight through the pump...even falling from a plane....without a parachute...:grin
Tom Cruise always either busts a cap in your skull or straight through the pump
I know this was in humor and while I have never had to shoot a human being I have shot more deer then I can remember and am amazed how long they can run with half a heart.

Buckeye...
When I used to hunt...for bears I would use a .458 Winchester magnum loaded with a hopped up 350 gr RN JSP that really did knock a hole through a big one sideways that you really could throw a softball through...but that was when I was on the ground and the closest one I ever shot was about 4 feet away...no sense in taking chances ...
If I were in a tree...I would use a 30.06 loaded with a very quick 165gr Nosler ballistic tip as I would shoot them in the eye or neck...
With either round or caliber.....not one bear ever took a second step...I've killed 13 from Alaska on down...
For deer....after shooting about a zillion of them....I've figured out...as obviously you have...that they can run a great distance without a working pump......or lungs either for that matter...
SO! I went to head and neck shooting them with either a .220 Swift or a .22-250....both loaded with a Nosler Ballistic Tip coming out of the barrel in excess of 4000 FPS ....and not a one has ever as much as flicked their tail as they nose dived into the ground.
Some years back I shot a nice buck right through the heart at about 40 yards with a 3" BRI sabot slug...I mean right through the heart....and it hunched it's back on impact...coughed and stood there looking at me. Thinking I must have missed...I hit it in the chest again......this time it ran like hell into a field...where it went about a 150 yards before it stopped ....looked around and fell over.
It is also amazing just how many times people can be shot in the vitals and still not give up the ghost.....
I am a big believer that an extremely fast projectile that will fragment and still have enough "stuff" to "carry through" will get the job done much quicker than a great big diameter slow moving piece of lead that you can actually hear the thump of impact from.
Speed Kills......
Try that 5.7 x 28 some day on something other than a piece of paper....OH MY!...:wink

Yes it is amazing how much punishment a person can take, especially if doped up.
The last deer I shot was killed with a 12 gauge slug threw the heart from about 30 yards away. It ran away broadside and I could see the blood squirting out both sides and decided I need to not shoot again, especially since it was running towards the truck and not away from it. :grin When it was all said and done that deer ran at least 400 yards and when I gut him he had no heart - it was gone.
I do disagree with faster rounds versus slower rounds. After speaking with many friends who have returned from war, one of their biggest complaints is that the .223 simply goes threw a person with little knock down power and does relatively speaking little damage. I have personally decided to stick with a larger and slower caliber - the 45 acp. I routinely practice the "failure drill" on my range sessions - two in the chest and unload on the head.
I have never eaten a booger in my entire life. -Jim Harbaugh
Military is shooting FMJ and that's what they do...you know that.
I shot a Buck with my 6.8 AR and Hornady Varmit 110 Gr. Frag Round. Right in the chest at 50 yards.
He did a backflip and died...right there. That V max is made to never leave the Target. No shoot thrus.
It turned his insides to blood jello. The round expended all it's energy into the target and blew up inside him.
I shot a 6 point a week or so ago with a 50 Cal.Smokepole slug . 1 lung hit at 40 feet. He ran almost a 1/2 mile.
Pass thru energy was spend on the dirt behind him instead of in him.
Frags mess stuff up bad..
In real like I have seen men lead away in cuffs who had pass-through shots in the chest area and still had to be subdued in order to transport.
Not enough gun.....obviously the shooter didn't have a .22 l.r..
Live and learn.....he did live, right?

Well Buckeye...
I will agree with you.... what I enlarged and put into bold...
The bullets that they use now adays is longer and heavier that they ones that I used while I was in the service.....they also changed the twist of the rifling to accommodate that much heavier bullet.....
And the reason you ask?......they tried to make a .223 do "double duty" where it was really designed to be a close up round (200 yards and in)...and back in it's 'hay day"......the "black gun" struck fear in those who were being shot at with it..
In their (US Military) attempt to make a longer range weapon...they have ruined the lethality of a round that ...at one time.....would drop a human target like it was hit by a 54 Cadillac that fell off the Empire State Building.
Those tiny 50+ grain bullets came screaming out of the barrel of the M-16 and when they hit flesh turned over and the jacket would rip off and it and the core would break up and head off into many directions...I saw a guy shot in the sternum have a piece of jacket hanging out his neck.....
That is the reason the "black gun" was so feared by our enemy.....back then anyway....
Give it "Speed and Fragmentation" and the .223/5.56 rounds are extremely lethal...... slow it down due to increased weight and length...along with a thicker jacket and it simply just is not as lethal.....though....it will be more accurate at a longer range.
I also carry a Colt Combat Commander...satin nickel....bought at Edelmans in Maryland in the 70's...it has undergone some changes....better sights...trigger, barrel, bushing, grip safety.....and it shoot extremely hot +P+ loads that are designed to fragment...spray is all directions...inside the fleshy target....and not go through someone and damage targets 100 foot down range.
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon... No matter how good you are, the bird is going to crap on the board and strut around like it won anyway. I AM NOT A RACIST
Speed AND Fragmentation inside the target.
A FMJ going 5 billion miles on hour is Flat Shooting but a complete pass thru. No energy placed on Target.
A Frag round going 5 billion miles an hour is a Freakin Body Bomb.
All that Foot Pounds Energy stops in 6 inches...Bam..
Just don't hit bone. That's why ability to make rapid multible hits on target wil win the day.
Better to be a good shot with a 22 than a bad shot with a 455 Casul..

A "deadly shot"....a man who can place the bullet where he wants to has a much better chance of surviving a gunfight than some dumbbell who after firing seven shots has hit his intended target in the calf and forearm with a round like an old Lake City .45 acp ball round that ...if you really look....can see it flying through the air...and if you raise your pistol level at shoulder height and shoot.... will hit the ground well before it reaches 100 yards....
Give me a 40 grain HP bullet at 1500+ FPS anyday over a 140 gr .38 traveling at 800fps for lethality...

Speed really is the key.......
What are you using for self defense rounds?
Back home, I would carry hydra shocks in the summer time and FMJ in the winter. I always felt the penetration was necessary through winter clothing and have read several articles of expanding rounds not expanding when fired in to heavy clothing. Since moving down here, I stick to the hydra shock.
Ever spend anytime on the box of truth web site? Some pretty interesting stuff.

I use handloaded bullets....handloaded and worked up by me for a specific pistol....
...and as crazy as it may sound.....I have chronographed .45 acp loads at almost 2000 FPS with machined beryllium copper projectiles.....no lead at all and a great big hollow point. I have absolutely no idea what they would do in flesh, but in jell...they make a real mess to 14 "s
It does help to own a lathe....:grin
The problem with many HP pistol/revolver round like the Hydra-Shock is that in a factory load they really can't push the load pressure past what the crappiest pistol they can find will not blow up on.....it's all about liability....
That's one of the reasons why I will not offer "hopped up load" formulas on the net ....someone might shove it into some "El Greco" gun and blast his face off...
One weapon that I find phenomenally strong is a Glock....yep ....a half plastic gun that I have put rounds through that would destroy most pistols....
Want a really vicious pistol?...Get a 10MM full sized glock....
It's basically a .41 magnum...when loaded up....ya got 15 rounds of hyper nasty in a pistol that feels like you have a refrigerator in your hands.....
...and brother......you can smoke them rounds right up to the point where ....with the right bullet.....whatever you hit will feel like it was just hit by a car.....
I have one....but...Oh My.....that damned thing is big...and I only use it in a shoulder holster and I haven't done that since I was Bear Hunting......

Carried a G30 (compact 45) for a couple years, before we had children. Once the kids came I felt much safer with the external safety and went back to a 1911. Speaking of 10mm I carried a Delta Elite for a while too.
I never did much reloading. I've thought about getting in to it, but I've got enough going on. There are different theories on carrying hand loads or reloads for self defense. If you really are pushing 2,000 FPS on a 45 acp you can bet your *** a prosecutor will use that against you in trial. Rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6, sure, but be aware that many self defense cases have been lost due to hand loads and reloads.

I hear what you are saying....and what you are saying is the truth.....
This thread is all about carrying a tiny little gun.....and not to toot my own horn...I am a phenomenal pistol shot....both instinctive and through sights.
My problem is that my hands are big enough to palm a basketball....and have been since I was 14 years old.....
I have a Desert Eagle that my hands can actually wrap around....I also have some tiny little Beretta's that when I attempted to shoot two handed I actually shot a groove in my left index finger......:grin
I'm all about hitting the target....and I always make the target a small one....like a shirt button...
And like you know.....a great hit with a tiny caliber is much better than a fantastic miss with a big one....
Behind the seat of my pick-up I keep a loaded lever action Winchester 94 ...with some quick 150 grain JFP 30.30's....at 100 yards it has twice the foot pounds of energy that a 240 .44 mag load has at the muzzle....and yet I have heard people praise the .44 mag and bad mouth the 30.30.....
Could only hunt with shot guns in Ohio, but I have spent a few mornings in a tree stand in W.V. with a Marlin 30.30. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 100 yards.
Have a good night.

Sooo. I just dropped $299 plus $15 ship on a Walther P22 Forest Camo model.
If it's as accurate as everybody says.. I'll be able to shoot out the running lights on Schmitys boat when I sneak on by fishing his dock lights at 3 am.
It 's got threads for a Silencer so he'll never even hear me...Winning!!

Oh...You rascal you...:grin
You're gonna enjoy it.....AND.....it will fit those "knocker grabbers" of yours to boot. (door knockers that is)
...when you come by....just don't shoot out my security cameras....
Has anyone here seen a shooting ? Been shot ? Have a friend that has been shot ? Or ever needed to pull your pistol for any reason ? Talking about outside of the service, law, etc. Casual life living and needed for protection...
Has anyone here seen a shooting ? Been shot ? Have a friend that has been shot ? Or ever needed to pull your pistol for any reason ? Talking about outside of the service, law, etc. Casual life living and needed for protection...
I have pulled one of mine twice.
From the bed room.
1st was our dog made a strange bark (we had 3 dogs at the time and I could sleep through dog fights)
Punks breaking into our car I did nothing but observe and call the cops with gun in hand.
2nd was a big guy on our front porch that had been rifle butted to the head screaming on his cellphone and bleeding.
Turns out he was on the phone with the cops as we where also calling the cops.
Ok Schmidity I purchased a Body guard 380 and a Walther p22 are you still gona' beat me up now , shot the bodyguard today very accurate, tommorow the 22,What type ammo for the 22 do you suggest
....... ever needed to pull your pistol for any reason ? Talking about outside of the service, law, etc. Casual life living and needed for protection...
YEp. Twice. Display of the weapon stopped the night time robbery of an elderly woman in a grocery store parking lot, and the second instance the severe beating/robbery attempt of a 30yo woman walking down the sidewalk on a busy street, during rush hour/daylight.......no one stopped to help. I turned around rendered some assistance. To be honest I could have stopped both by beating the guy's **** but why risk getting cut up by some HIV/hepatitis infected POS.
These situations happen more than people realize. Pisses off my wife sometimes but I tell her if she were to have a "situation" I would hope someone would help her.

"Beat you up"????.......:rotflmao...you got the wrong "Schmidty" there Brother....
Glad the .380 worked for you.....with my giant "bunch of bananas" hands it kinda get a bit lost in there....maybe a nice Desantis 028 Cozy Partner Inside the Pant holster might be the tick for you?.......pretty nice rig....
As far as ammo for your new and exciting Walther 22...I would suggest some nice Remington Yellowjacket HP's.....around 1500 FPS out the pipe.....Mine feeds them well ....
I would not want to be hit by one of them in the 10 ring....

Hope I never have to shoot at someone. :angel
YEp.
Good luck!
