Ventured offshore to fish the back side of this full moon we had, loaded the well with pilchards and a couple 5 gal buckets for use as chummers. Conditions were favorable with a 3' swell on the ride out with a beautiful sunset. Set up in 60' on some small structure and started fishing right around 9pm. The bite was consistent with most fish in the 14-17" range, right off the bat. We used 20lb flourocarbon with a knocker rig with shrimp or pilchards. The moon rose and the bite shut off tremendously. The largest mangrove was 22" along with two right at 20" to accompany the yeti. I did land a nice 33 1/2" cobia that also made the box. A larger cobia in the 40lb size range came to check out the lights but was disinterested in our smaller pilchards and shrimps.

From yesterday. Otherwise yes I'll typically be up on the bow with a spotlight.

I'm not worried about running way out there at night, it's sometimes a challenge to see the channel markers and buoys when we come back home in the pitch dark.
