Because he was a man, he lived by a code that had honor, something you wouldn't understand.

Something I have noticed about the people that claim to be former LEO's posts is they are all filled with violence and boast of the law, all while they hate the politicians that wrote those laws.

    Question for you has beens.

If the Sheriff believes that the girl struck the officer first, why isn't she charged with assualt on an officer and why is he now a has been like you guys are?

Must be because he really believes the officers account and is willing to stand up for his men, right?

Most of you guys are crazy, that was a child and a girl. Look I raised two daughters as a widower......even thou they rebelled at time, I NEVER struck them or assaulted them, but a public servant that is just wacked, a parent perhaps ok.....I could not believe that video.

The cop was pretty gentle with his take-down considering she was assaulting him. $10 says the Governors office called the sheriff, and said we don't want no stinkin' riots in SC. If they offered the cop a 10 year severance package to appease the masses, it would be the cheapest way to resolve. My guess on the kid's family settlement...I'll say $325,000.

I was working at home yesterday and was able to watch this story on TV for a few hours. They showed the tip-over-drag-away scene a dozen times, but the video was edited so that we didn't see the girl hitting the officer. Has anyone seen the earlier part of the video that showed the girl hitting the officer? If the media is purposely leaving that part out there is a definite bias in the coverage.

I don't think that part, if it happened was recorded. The recording we are seeing was taken by another student in the class. I doubt that they had the camera turned on until things got tense, so it is likely that the striking of the officer by the girl was not recorded, if it ever happened at all.
The reason I have my doubts that it happened is that the girl has not been charged with assault on a police officer and the Sheriff fired the officer. If there had been an assault on the officer, IMHO, the girl would have been charged with that and the officer would not have been fired.
If you assault a police officer, well, what ever happens next, regardless of your age or what ever else, it's on you and it is likely that you will take a beating for it. I believe this girl defied the officer who may or may not have been giving her a lawful order, but defiance is no reason for an officer to use excessive force on you.

Exemplifies a lot wrong with society.

Girl's behavior = wrong and deserves being taught a lesson

Cop = wrong (however only one in this situation with cause, and only wrong in that he was over handed)

NAACP and all hooplah to follow = for the wrong reasons and agenda

In this footage I do not see where the girl attempted in any way to assault the officer. Probably what the Sheriff saw too.

I have seen a report that the girl that is involved in this incident recently dealt with the death of her mother.

Can anyone find confirmation of this?
    I can't seem to.

I have been able to confirm that the girl was texting, not talking on her phone.
This leads me to believe that the teacher was not having his classroom disrupted and that he could have simply continued teaching. It surely cannot be the first time a student has not paid attention to him, who by the way is a tall black man.

I do not see where the girl attempted in any way to assault the officer.

Review this at :03-:04. As she resisted, she struck the officer on the right side of the head/ear/neck. If she had a ball point pen.....

What I saw was it mentioned in a post by another member of FS, but that source is unreliable and has not provided a link to that information. I have requested confirmation of that information from that poster but not received it yet.

I am trying to find confirmation in the form of print or video so that I can see it and do just that for any interested parties. I thought if I asked, with multiple people trying to confirm or debunk that information that it could be confirmed or debunked in a more timely manner.
The girls age apparently has prevented news of her name which if known would facilitate a more rapid search procedure.

Is there a possibility that using your previous careers knowledge and investigative expertise that you could be a help?

Possibly so. I didn't think so at first but on reviewing near the :40 mark it does look like it. But it could be a reactionary movement for balance as the officer had already begun his assault.

    No!...absolutely not....

...I have already explained what I would have done ....and I did it like a gentleman......and for my efforts I received a load of horse apples forked at me...BY YOU!

I come to this site to get some laughs...which many here do the same....not to have anyone attempt to become an "internet tough guy" an shoot their mouth off....

...who probably lives in a broken down trailer that's infested with vermin...parked in the back yard of his widowed mothers place on the outskirts of the Love Canal.......:grin

I have said what I would have done....."I" had always went by a set procedure and did what is prudent ......I was not there....I do not know every thing that transpired.....BUT neither does anyone else here......

When someone makes a "blanket statement" that they would have "talked" this student into acting appropriately as a law abiding citizen and a member of a moral society WITHOUT knowing her or everything that transpired it makes me shake my head in disbelief and say...."wow...what a dimwit"...

...and what makes that person think that everyone else who asked her to comply was just someone who no one would listen to?

...a partner of mine shot a botched robbery armed creep who took a woman hostage... right through his left eye and it ejected his brains right out the back of his skull........an "idiot" who came "after the fact" said that he would have talked the guy out of his weapon...and that there was no reason in the world to kill him.......of course he didn't hear the creep say how he was going to shoot the woman right through the head after I distracted him by saying "drop the weapon MF'er"

...by the way....I have always called bad guys "creeps"....because that's the way I feel about all people who breaks the laws and make it so we have to have things like sheriffs in high schools because they won't listen to those in authority.

"Creeps" are those who flaunt that they have used illegal drugs thousands of times...and then come here and say that the girl in question is just a misunderstood angel......and anyone who doesn't think so is a RWNJ......

I hope the sheriff gets a nice settlement and moves to Florida...

If she got up and followed him out of the room it wouldn't even be a story. Done and done.
She decided on her own that she wanted to be miss bad *** and disrespect all in attendance and put up a fight cause she ain't got no rules and she can do whatever she wants.
She got what she deserved and should be held accountable.
Blah blah if it was my child blah blah.. My kids better do the right thing and respect the officer and go with him.

I have been put I hand cuffs twice, both times without incidents and both times I was yes sir, no sir, I understand and I am sorry sir. Guess what I didn't get beat, teased, or pepper sprayed. I was treated like a civil human being and that was the end.

Kids these days don't like authority and think they are untouchable.

    News flash.. They aren't.

This generation is screwed most of these kids or anyone under 30 now is gonna be F'd

Is it just laws or rules as well, for example; forum rules or classroom rules?

What about racists and bigots, what have you always called them?

Please define a"racist" and a "bigot"...I ask for clarity because so many these days abuse these two words that I would like for you to explain your definition and why you bring it up on this thread...what purpose does your "oddly placed" question serve?

I most assuredly can define a "race baiter".....that would be some brainwashed politically correct liberal jaw wager who goes out of his way to be a drama queen and scream that anyone who uses the word "****" is a racist and a bigot.

...and they will spring up out of no where and start their blathering in an attempt to draw attention to themselves.

I have written to the United **** College Fund and have asked them to change their name so that "white race baiters" will not have to go through life in a constant state of the vapors....running around with their dress hiked up ...dropping water with rivulets of forced tears streaming down their faces in an attempt to prove to the world that they are the champions of all races.....

By the way...."triple threat 33t".....why do you ask?

The cop probably could have dragged her out while sitting in the desk without flipping her out of it, but she brought it on herself. I really am not concerned about that one. I do have a issue with the undercover cop that shot the motorist that was broken down in WPB. The cop was plain clothes and presumably never identified himself as a LEO. The victim had a concealed weapons permit and stood his ground.

    Here's an example of why the teacher should have called for the officer;
