Upcoming Abacos Fishing Trip...Any Tips?

mikenavmikenav Posts: 861 Officer
Going to be headed this way in a few weeks to do some fishing (offshore and, hoepfully, inshore). First time to this area, but it looks pretty good from the maps and charts I've been looking at (including the one attached here). Anything I should DEFINITELY do or definitely NOT do??

Thanks!

Wahoo bite should start..? 140-300 watch the machine and birds. Off shore (10 miles +) is a crap shoot in October. Sometimes the Tuna are there ??
To be honest I don't know what you will find after the Hurricane. It could go either way. If it gets close enough it will blow any weed right out of the area..?
Inshore.. Grouper troll in 35-40' pay attention ! Couple spots in that area and a little West that jump up to 17-20'. One off Moraine Cay that is awash at low tide and 30' deep all the way around it. It is on the chart.. Sometimes the Yellowtails are thick there...(Summer)
Sharks are frisky that time of year. Be aware.
