I held out as long as I could then finally got the 4S back in April 2012. Still have the same phone.
I actually like the phone but should've kept ignoring the software update. My 12 year old lab woke me up at 2:30 in the morning to go outside and I couldn't go back to sleep. Under the influence of Ambien, I decided to load the updated iOS 9 and now I feel as if the Earth teeters on the edge of complete collapse.
I have phone like this. Just replaced with same model after having old one for 5 years. Cost $40. Had to replace battery once. Operating cost is about $10-$15 per month. Works great everywhere except my house.
Mine is eating more data and battery, even with wi fi assist off. It was a bad update.
I don't like how you can't delete the "fish friend" and "find phone" apps off of the phone. Lots of hidden applications running behind the scenes...still like my iPhone over any other phones out there.
Have you up dated to 9.01, I think it was a quick fix for some problems. the iPhone is the original everything else is a copy to some degree or other. Like others have said, it is different and changed most all my Apple stuff some what, and lots of Apps have changed and every so often I get messages do I want something running in the background.
I think Apple is losing it and bringing out new stuff like other companies use to with out much testing real world uses.
The wife and I still have old iPhone 4s's. She updated software and I never did. My maps are way better than hers. This past month her data went through the roof (4x average)while out of town when my 10 year old figured out how to activate her hot spot and play online games on his iPad. My old software does not have the hot spot.
