I feel sorry for the daughter knowing that she was most likely stampeded by herds of bloodthirsty, bottom feeding ambulance chasers that live off of the misfortune of others.
GT's are not turbo cars. They're V10 normally aspirated
the only thing I had read in passing is that the car was a gts which is a flat 6 with 430 hp...
I had never seen the car described as the Carrera gt with the v-10...
in either event, not a lot of people know what to do with a Porsche 911 gts little alone a Carrera gt,,,
the Carrera gt was only built in limited numbers...something like 1000....

Lack of a fire suppression system is a design flaw in a car designed for that level of performance ...
VW and Porsche will settle out of court ... they have more than enough bad PR right now
You're welcome

the 911's all have a handling characteristic known as "lift throttle over steer"....
if you're an idiot, and try and drive one of these cars without being familiar with that issue...you will be a fubar...
people normally react to the feeling of the rear end breaking loose by lifting the throttle which actually makes the situation worse...
in a 911 when you feel the rear end starting to step out you should put more foot into the go peddle to counteract the over steer...
not let up...
I kind of have a feeling besides alcohol being involved, the driver was not aware of this...which is exacerbated by the turbo...
the boxsters and caymens do not share this handling quirk as the engine is in the middle of the car, in front of the rear axles...
porsches are renowned for their safety and design...however, they can't fix stupid...
It takes lots and lots of training to unlearn bad habits, even those not known to have. I wish I had a dollar for every person who was surprised by that handling quirk in a 911.
When I was going into my senior year of college I allowed my notch back mustang to drop two wheels off of the pavement onto the gravel shoulder when I spilled coffee in my lap. I knew not to jerk the wheel to the left to get fully on the road but yet I did it and as a result broke the rear passenger tire down off of the wheel, crossed the highway, hit the ditch and flipped the car twice I am told. I was thrown out the rear window and extremely lucky only to have a big hole in my left thigh and various smaller holes elsewhere. I am 6'2" and at that time weighed maybe 225 so it was kinda tight getting out that back window.
Paul Walker’s Death Wasn’t Porsche’s Fault, Car Company Says Amid Lawsuit
A day after deceased actor Paul Walker‘s daughter filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche relating to her father’s 2013 death, Porsche has issued a statement defending itself, asserting that the crash that killed the “Furious 7” actor was the result of “reckless driving and excessive speed.”
“As we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities’ reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed,” the auto company told TheWrap in a statement Tuesday.
The denial of responsibility comes after Meadow Walker, 16, filed suit against Porsche in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming that the Carrera GT that Walker died in lacked safety features that could have either prevented the accident or allowed the actor to survive it.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department determined that the deadly crash was the result of “unsafe speed,” with traffic collision experts finding that the car was traveling between 80 and 93 miles per hour when it collided with an electrical pole and multiple trees. The posted speed limit on the Santa Clarita, California, road where the crash occurred was 45 mph.
Despite the sheriff’s department report, the lawsuit contends that the car was only traveling 45 to 55 m.p.h. when it struck the pole.
Walker was a passenger in the vehicle, and the wife of driver Roger Rodas has also filed suit against Porsche, maintaining that the crash occurred because of a failure in the car’s suspension system, as well as a lack of proper safety features.
In that suit, the automaker has denied wrongdoing, placing the blame on Rodas himself, and also suggests that the car was “misused or improperly maintained,” which “contributed to the alleged incident and to the injuries, loss, and damages, if any.”
The younger Walker is seeking unspecified damages in her suit.
I don't think Porsche will settle.
they don't need to as the car was designed to be "track ready" with only a couple of changes made to it...
the v10 engine was designed for the 917 Le Mans prototype class...
steve McQueen drove one in the movie he made, Le mans...
at that point in time the only car that could seriously compete with the Porsche was the Ferrari p3...
the p3 was a beautiful car compared to the flat tail 917...

Blaming the manufacturer is stupid. Like in the family whose family member commits suicide with their product. Porsche offers driving classes at a real race track and I think it is free to purchasers of their new performance cars. There is a reason for that. Kids, don't play with blasting caps.

He was nominated for an Academy Award back in 1999, made $47 million off Furious 7. The movie grossed $1.5 billion worldwide.
He must be doing something right.
I first saw him in Pitch black and knew he would be big as an action hero in the movies.
