First Time Heading to Bahamas

btm930btm930 Posts: 240 Deckhand
Going with a few friends in two weeks weather permitting staying 2 days and looking for some tips. All our paperwork is completed and passport etc. Not worried about that. All of us never fished in the bahamas before and looking for some tips. Planning on Fishing the West End.

Thank you

Buy a deep drop set up. It can save a trip. This time of year can be hit or miss offshore but if you head up toward Sandy Cay you can anchor up and beat up the yellow tails if you have some chum. You will only get to use one block of chum per spot as the sharks will show up. Alway put a bigger bait on a longer leader in the chum slick and the muttons should produce as well. If you are staying at OBB its a great resort. Try to spend some time at the beach bar, that is sometimes is the best part of the trip - unwinding. Have fun and enjoy!
