We fished one day charter out of Boca Chica last week with a repeat client Jaime Pelham from Alabama. The "TOP Cat" is in the middle of some maintenance and repairs so we had to fish the "Scandalous" our 25' SeaCraft fishing machine with twin 140hp 4-stroke Suzuki outboards. We don't usually have many fishing days in September as it is the height of the "rainy season" here now with few clients. Lots of Humpback Whales are around now and we saw no less that a dozen over the course of the day. Even though the weather can be a bit snotty this time of year...the fishing is still good! The weather in the morning was beautiful, as we stopped by the lodge to pick up some live baits, but got progressively worse as the day went on. We got two nice Wahoos and missed a couple all after the tide switched at the end of the day. Only the finest gear used...Shimano Talica 20II/Terez rod setups, spooled with 65# Diamond Fishing Product's Momoi braided line, trolling Yo-Zuri swim baits, and Aftco harnesses and gaffs. We have another group coming to fish later this month so stay tuned for hopefully some more "rainy season" action from the Gulf of Chiriquí, Panama!
