Power Pole on a 167 C/K

So we're thinking about adding a Power Pole to our 167. Any recommendations?

Thinking about an 8 footer on the starboard side since there's room in the rear locker there (repowered with a four stroke Zuke so the old oil tank is gone).

I've read pretty much nothing but good reviews and reports on them - Anybody have one and regret it? Anything I should do / not do or anything to look out for?

Thanks,

Daz

Get the 8'. To me a power pole is a key feature on a versatile boat like an Egret.

Blade is considered more robust construction, but I know the pro is quieter. I have 8' blade on 189 and very happy.

I had 10' blade before. Way too big.

I have an 18' 9" w/ an eight footer. Mounted on the right side.
I'm right handed so throwing a cast net off the stern is more difficult w/ the PP there.
Use the PP all the time.
Have heard about problems w/ the Minnkota product.

    Good luck.

I have a 189 with two 8 ft blades...couldn't be happier. In terms of throwing the net, I usually lower the starboard pole when I throw...and try to remember to raise it!

Thanks for the responses. I did go ahead and get the 8' Pro II. It's mounted on the stbd. side above the trim tab and I'm very pleased with it.

Now I just need to get some replacement latches for my rod lockers and replace a few of the little "pads" under the fwd deck locker lid (to get rid of a squeak when I step on it) and I should be all finished. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions as the where to source these? I've emailed Egret directly and through their website without receiving any response.
