Launched off SE 12th st in Pompano Bch around 645. Caught runners for bait and started fishing the runners around 8am. It was flat calm and super humid, wish it had rained on me as it would have felt good. Current was dead, and fishing was slow. Took advantage of the weak current to fish the wrecks without drifting off too quickly. Metered the fish, but they were not as eager to jump on the jig. Fished all morning for just 1 Amico and a Cuda. Action picked up in the afternoon with a small King, 3 more Amico and a nice Amberjack. There were almost no weeds, and current picked up to only about .7kts Nth in the afternoon. A friend of mine went out of Dania on 9/11 and also reported no current and slow fishing during the morning hours. With the dead drift, It seems to be better fishing in the afternoon when the current increases.
