Home Big Bend General Fishing & The Outdoors

The past 2 weeks (pic heavy)

Over the last 2 weeks I've had a break between summer and fall classes so I took advantage accordingly. We hit the barge canal a couple of times in the yak and cedar key a couple of days ago to help a buddy find fish. I even flipped the camera on myself once for some fish selfies as recommended haha. I'd post the stories individually but that's a lot of stories in 3 trips.

The snook seem to be abundant anywhere there are schools of mullet. There were multiple blowups that I swear had to be 40 inch snook killing footlong mullet haha just amazing to watch them rally up school and blow fish out the water.

The power plant area has been hot lately with reds and snook. When tides are right, fishing there is a blast.

These last pics are from our cedar key trip a couple days ago. Got a limit of reds within 45 minutes and spent the rest of the day catching for fun. Saw a tarpon roll right past the bridge by the ramp out from old coconuts restaurant dock which was cool.
