It amazes me especially in the salt water community how many people snell their hooks either backwards or not even at all. The difference in your hookup ratios is astronomical.
I’ve been fishing my whole life and have ran many experiments especially while commercial fishing for so many years.
Since I have been working in the recreational sector of fishing I talk with lots of people that are just baffled how well a properly snelled hook works. Some are deck-hands with decades of experience that don't even snell.
The backwards snell is the worse. I put this video together to help out with all the confusion to those new to why it’s so important.

I use the same method but use a uni to the shank of the hook. Important to run the line throught the barb side of the hook eye.
