I get asked this A LOT...why do I care about Community Edits on my Navionics charts? Let me show you real quick.
This is a boat that burned in the St. Lucie River about three weeks ago:
It is sitting just out of the channel, but in a place where it could still be hazard if some maneuvering were required in that area. With Community Edits, it now appears on your Navionics charts. And no other chart anywhere. Check out the circle.
But wait! If you click on that little boat, you get this:
And, then, if you click on the Burned Out Bertram tab, you get this:
Coordinates and everything.
Obviously, this is just an example. But imagine if this boat were submerged in the middle of the inlet. Like that barge in Fort Pierce a couple months ago. This would be valuable information to have.
Just thought I would address a question I hear a lot. Thanks!
