So the people on the boat were baiting the pig into the water so they could see this? I thought pigs were smart and that wasn't exactly a stealthy gator.

As a tourist attraction I don't particularly care but that is one less invasive pig roaming around. And that is a good thing, plus the gator gets food, however the gator now associates boats with food. Next time just blast the pigs, they are a very destructive species thar is wrecking local ecosystems.
you can probably think of several others if you tried

I've taken that tour outside of NO. Only the boat driver/guide had the marshmallows (and hot dogs) and when I was there, only threw them to the gators. They already associated the boat with food and came out to get it. They were running several boat loads an hour. Being from Florida and used to seeing gators, the tour did not impress me, but I was with a group from all over the US, from upstate NY to Nebraska and Calif. These people loved the show
that photo is in deep water where the pigs wouldn't go
the video is straight forward ... the pigs were being baited to the gators

I was thinking you could have surf and turf with one shot after the pig drown...
Seriously though, I would be irate if my kids were aboard... This is not the way I would want them to view the value of an animals life... I will teach them to hunt and that the death of an animal is ok under certain circumstances but an animal should never be killed or injured for puposes of entertainment.

Baiting an animal into a certain inhumane death just isn't my idea of fun..........by any stretch of the imagination...

Inhumane is a stretch, mother nature at work in how the gator killed him.
But baiting the pigs? Pretty lame

Thoughts lost on the many local low life's.
And most infra-humans in the rest of the world.
And why I keep saying we are a doomed illogical specie.
