So - they want to kill the guy who killed the lion!

Fish HaidFish Haid Posts: 8,417 Admiral
Bunch of freaking nut-jobs in this country. They want to send the guy to jail prison for killing a lion in Africa! Death threats!!! Seriously? Makes me want to fire up my old "Kitty Kannon" again, and shoot it at the PETA-tards.

(FYI: Just like a potato gun, but you don't load it with potatoes. Had lots of fun with it in the old days. Guinea pigs and bullfrogs work great too).

    .
Two signs posted on the door of a nondescript dental office here asked passers-by to mourn the death of Cecil, a lion who was lured off his sanctuary and killed during a game hunt this month in Zimbabwe.
"WE ARE CECIL," one read; "#CatLivesMatter," read another. Nearby was a sign with a darker message for the dentist who said he killed the cat: "ROT IN HELL."

In the hours since Dr. Walter J. Palmer apologized for killing the lion, he has gone from a dentist and longtime hunting enthusiast to a villain at the center of a firestorm over the ethics of big-game trophy hunting.

    ...

The outrage and attention surrounding the lion’s death online caused Dr. Palmer to keep his office closed on Wednesday as he joined an ever-expanding group of people who have become targets of Internet vigilantism, facing a seemingly endless shaming until the next issue comes along.

I just read that Zimbabwe is trying to have him extradited. I wonder if Obama will grant him amnesty?

    Doubt it.

I foresee him getting involved just enough to make it racist, and continue on his quest to divide this country.

It sure is strange that so many folk here fantasize about ana l sex every time a person is sent to prison ...

to me being kept in a metal cage would be punishment enough ...

that and having so many mentally ill people as fellow prisoners ...

Doubt that illegal hunting is an extraditable offense.

It would be in his interest to offer a fine and fight extradition.

I know, I just mean it's not even a joke...I couldn't believe I was hearing it...pathetic. ...and just for the record, I think shooting a lion is wrong.

I see it as wrong as shooting a bear or gator in FL.
But, the bears need some thinning and the gators taste great.

He didn't break the law, but he appears to have a higher regard for himself and hunting skills that is warranted. Easy solution was to go to some dirt poor country where they will let you do what you want for the right price. He thought if could hire guides to track a lion, he could shoot it with his cross bow (****!) and get a little he man ****. Kind of backed fired on the great white hunter.

BTW, I don't want to kill him, but ridicule is ok.

The hate for the guy (not that would ever want to shoot one) has been misdirected in my opinion. You pay an outfitter for a hunt, you expect them to not only deliver but do so according to that country's regulations. If anything, where is the outrage against the country who not only invites and encourages these hunts but makes a lot of money on it as well. Think I read they get about 45 million a year in licenses and fees, not including the boost to the local economy for guides, lodging, etc etc. Not one rant I've seen denounces the source of the perceived problem. Not one! Idiots.

legal hunts are not the problem ...

there were some guys poaching on our farm ... my father asked them to leave and they were drunk and told him to F.O. ... the warden came and arrested them ... three new trucks and several rifles and shot guns were seized and forfeited on top of large fines ... the dum basses were from out of state ... the Judge was an ethical sportsman and from the reaming he gave in his decision it was obvious he had a lot of contempt for the idiots ... especially idiots from out of state who chose to take a crap in his bailiwick

I don't disagree. However, I would think for 50k a reasonable person would expect both a legal and ethical hunt. Being an egomaniac and poacher can be mutually exclusive.

Trying to take a lion with a crossbow is like trying for marlin with a Zebco. I suppose it can be done, but what is the fricken point?
