Took a charter trip offshore out of St. Augustine and on the way out we were sitting in the cockpit telling lies when out of the cabin a banana comes flying into the water. The mate ( who threw it) shouted, "no wonder we didn't catch any fish yesterday".

That's awesome I have a few trips were I was unaware of bananas being aboard and blamed the bad fishing day to them.

I had that drilled into my head about no bananas growing up so many times, I still tell my guests don't bring them.

Fished a king tourney years ago out of St Pete. Stayed in a dive hotel on the water with several other 'buddy' boats. Tourny day, I came out before light to load boat and every rod holder; t-top, rocket launcher, gunnels and console holders had a banana stuck in it. Funniest sight, still cracks me up when I think about it today.:banana

Similar thing happened to me, a "buddy" hid bananas all over my boat before a tournament. Motor blew up right at take off..
whether one believes it as bad luck or not, it's not cool when something happens. Kind of like wishing bad luck. Plus, don't mess with someone's boat.lol
