When did I give you odds?

"Winning it all" may not be the bet, but for all practical purposes it might as well be.

I told you I'd take your bet straight up with out odds. It's up to you if you want to do that or not. Right now we don't have a named starting QB and will be missing 4 star players at least the first game.

This is what I mean by there is better action out there for my $250 side of the bet. I'd rather split the $250 and buy these teams to win it all:

    Ohio State 11/5 For $113.63
    Alabama 7/1 For $35.71
    TCU 15/2 For $33.33
    Auburn 13/1 For $19.23
    Baylor 15/1 For $16.67
    USC 15/1 For $16.67

    http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/futures/

    Total bet $235.23

If any of the teams win I collect that teams bet + $250.

You gave me odds on the NBA finals.

Thins should be less about the numbers and more about you backing tOSU.

You are going to have to give me the dumdum explanation of the above bet.

If you place the above bets you are out $235. If USC wins you get $250.
    That's a net of $15.
    What am I missing here?

Oh, yeah I forgot about the finals bet. That was a lock anyways. I originally posted you had 10 x odds but edited the post before you seen it to 5 x.

    Stealing, not gambling. Big difference.

I like OSU obviously and I like them to win it all this year. But I don't WANT TO give odds on it and there are a lot of factors why.

    1) we have no named QB.

    2) we have suspensions (possibly more pending).

    3) this year and next I'm more interested in Meyer's control on the program.

    4) Whether you SEC guys like it or not, nothing is given in the Big Ten.

    5) I am not clear on the Big Ten rules on how selections are made for the championship game.

    6) Hairball.

    1) be serious, you have 3, all of whom could be Heisman contenders. Stop w/ the woe is me on this topic. tOSU has zero issue at QB.
    2) you posted it was no big deal, miller would step right in at hback, I forget who you mentioned as the dline replacement.
    3) lol
    4) moot point, nothing is given an any conference, including the big12. > not a "SEC guy". I am a facts guy.
    5) Look into it, you are a smart guy.
    6) I hope you choke on it. ;)

    Wat?

So you make a $235 bet and you are guaranteed to net at least $266 if one of those teams wins?!

Feel free to bring it to pm.

    That's right.

Do you not understand or do not like it?

I can see not liking it since it is a long time period for little profit but you can multiply those numbers however you like for a larger profit.

I don't know how you don't understand it though.

Having three may mean you have none. Having a split locker room is not good for anyone. Lets be honest when Miller was injured preseason last year the team and all of buckeye nation rallied around JT. When JT was injured everyone rallied around CJ. There was no one questioning any of the decisions like there will be this time. Regardless if JT and CJ get along and make it threw this, whatever decision is made will be questioned by everyone at every turn.

As much as some of you guys count the QB issue at Ohio State as a blessing it could just as easily turn in to a curse. Meyer with Chris Leach and TT is the only time I can recall a multi QB situation working and that hardly compares to the run our two went on last year.

We have already seen some of the momma drama on twitter when JT wasn't invited to attend the espy's
    2) you posted it was no big deal, miller would step right in at hback, I forget who you mentioned as the dline replacement.

I mentioned CJ filling in for Bosa. It was a joke.

I still do not see how the suspensions are not increased. What is protocol when a player fails a test - is it reported to the NCAA or are those matters handled internally? I don't see how a kid from Oregon can be suspended for half a season and a kid from Ohio State can be suspended for 1 non conference game. It doesn't make sense to me and I'm not willing to bet on something I don't understand.
    3) lol

Don't see what's funny. Meyer has had a handle on the program thus far, but I must admit I am a bit nervous moving forward. Does this not remind you of his time in Gainesville?

I've also heard rumors on OSU boards that Meyer did not do the suspension, but Gene Smith and the Athletic department did and told Meyer and the players about it weeks ago.
    4) moot point, nothing is given an any conference, including the big12. > not a "SEC guy". I am a facts guy.

    Sure.
    5) Look into it, you are a smart guy.

    Here are the rules:

The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

    (a) If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
    (b) If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

    1. The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other.

    2. The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division.

    3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, and 6).

    4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents.

    5. The highest ranked team in the first College Football Playoff poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the College Football Playoff poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game.

    6. The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative.

    7. The representative will be chosen by random draw.

So if OSU beats MSU but loses to UM and MSU loses to OSU and beats UM and UM loses to MSU and beats OSU, who goes? Assuming all 3 teams have 1 conference loss.

The highest ranked team by the playoff committee?
    6) I hope you choke on it. ;)

I told MikeV to book seats with field access so he can party if there is an upset.

It's even better if OSU repeats.

    $250 + $113 = $363 collect

    - $235 original bet

    Net $128

So why again does your 5:1 proposition look good?

Do not worry about a split team... urb is a master at having everyone in.

tOSU is the deepest team in the NCAA.

No, you are a few years premature on this concern.

I am also willing to bet toSU wins the BIG.

$50 is pretty much lunch money too.

I'm better off with the bet I showed you. It's practically a guaranteed win and I AM getting the odds.

If OSU wins the Big Ten they out rank Baylor at season end.

I'll give you 2:1 on that.

Or straight up $50 OSU out ranks Baylor at season end with no exceptions.

A guarantee 16$ net bet is joke.

    I will drop it.

Watch out for Baylor this year.

I'd rather go all in on FSU over UF with FSU only being 1.5 point favorites right now.

That seems like a no brainer.

Multiply the numbers by whatever you can afford. I only used the $250 because that is what you are proposing to me. Times it by 10 or 100 or 1000, whatever you like.

I was showing you that there are much better bets out there than what you proposed. A guaranteed $16 is better than giving 5:1 on a coin flip, no?

Gambling or placing wagers shouldn't have anything to do with team affiliation or wants or beliefs, it should have everything to do with getting your money in at the right times at the right spots. That's it.

Even better than that you could cover your $235 with a $3.62 @ 65:1 field bet and only lose if any of these teams win:

    Notre Dame 20/1
    Oregon 22/1
    Clemson 25/1
    LSU 25/1
    Michigan State 25/1
    Florida State 33/1
    Georgia 33/1
    Oklahoma 33/1
    Stanford 33/1
    UCLA 33/1
    Arkansas 45/1
    Ole Miss 45/1
    Tennessee 55/1
    Field (Any Other Team) 65/1

    http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/futures/

And if you wanted to stretch it to the full $250 out you could pick up Oregon and Sparty for cheap and just about have every base covered with only FSU and GA being scary teams to bust you, in my opinion.

Other than MAYBE Vanderbilt,,,, every team in the SEC would have a better chance of running the table with this pathetic and cowardly schedule than the school it belongs to. There are at most 2 teams of substance on it.

    Va Tech (7-6)
    Hawaii (4-9 WAC)
    N. Illinois (11-3 MAC)
    Western Michigan (8-5 MAC)
    Indiana (4-8)
    Maryland (7-6)
    Penn State (7-6)
    Rutgers (8-5)
    Minnesota (8-5)
    Illinois (6-7)
    Mich State (11-2)
    Michigan (5-7)
