Yeah they are... good to know. They are portraying that particular cartridge as a defense round for the Circuit Judge and Governor. Haven't researched it enough to argue the point. I like the idea and was actually going to pick one up last week.

Try walking around your house... Down hallways, through doorways, etc at the ready with a shotgun....
The answer you will get... It that a shotgun is not easy to bring to the ready in a house...
A handgun is better.
Combat with a shotgun or a pistol is something that should be taught to a person......not guessed at....
Most people would not even know how to hold either on a person without a grand chance of it being taken away from them...
It's easier to miss with a handgun..............but if that's what a person thinks they need....then more power to them....
...........but nothing is going to crumple a fleshy target like a blast of #4 buck that 27.....24 caliber balls at around 1350 fps at close range from a cylinder bore....
Turning lights on in your house when you suspect an armed intruder is there is not only suicidal, but gives away your tactical advantage with an exception being an intruder assaulting another family member.
It also takes less discipline to not "get out in front" of your shotgun than your handgun in a lights out scenario.
I make a very effective, very low recoil load for shotguns. Cut the crimp off the end of the shell, dump out the shot, take out 1/4 ounce, mix remaining with a table spoon of melted wax, return to shell, let cool. We have tested a bunch of these at the range. Pie plate accurate to 15 yards, punches a hole in 1 sheet of drywall but splatters on one set 4" behind, devastating on a gallon milk jug, recovery between shots twice as fast as buck shot. Haven't cronoed yet but educated guess is 1500 fps. with low brass #8 If I were to use a shotgun for a home defense weapon these are the loads I'd use. I prefer a AR with 50 gr frangilables.

Not all of us can afford to live in places where we put up fences and gates to keep out the "undesirables".
I live in a gated community where they also patrol all night and have everyone coming in or out on video yet, I still have to shoot at least one person a week.

I don't sleep that hard, if they attempt entry then little dog barks first... Then big dog barks last.

not my cup of Tea for home defense, too bulky. A good handgun in my opinion is better.

That video would be funny to see

What's the spread on a pistol at 10-15'?
Great video, thank you; and now complicates my thinking about what to buy?
At this time it shall probably be determined by costs and my feeling much more
relaxed and able with a long gun.
Again, thanks for your input.

But it's good that you have a choice.
My life is pretty good.
I should probably oil and clean them all now that I think about it.
Good for you that you've chosen fences and gates as your tool to protect yourself and loved ones.
Perhaps in the future you shouldn't be so quick to judge and laugh at others who choose a different tool to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Well, you have to admit I was right. Well, you don't have to, but you should.
