2 More Kayak Bass Fishing Trips

7/18

Started in Crystal River it was raining so bad we gave up before noon. Headed to Ocala put the kayak in the Withlacoochee River around 3:30 and had another fun afternoon of bass fishing.

Went solo in the kayak again. Went much farther down river than usual and found alot more quality bass once I got there but didn't have much time before sunset. Still missed alot of bass and caught a few mudfish. The end of the video has most of the bigger bass

Neat. I started fishing there in the 60's . Mostly upriver of the bridge in a canoe. It's a special place and holds a lot of memories.

I start heading up river then turn around an head back is it worth the paddle? Doesn't it get shallow and really clear and hard to catch fish

Not too shallow. Lots of rocks here and there but plenty of fish. The big spring is about 2 miles up river. My parents lived in the house at the mouth of the spring run for a long time.

You'll have no trouble in your kayak. Last spring I fished there a bunch of times in my small boat and only hit the rock I saw, and that very slowly. Follow Mike, the guy in the tour pontoon, the first time and you'll have no trouble. The river is a lot lower now though.
