Another big peacock bass

Today I ventured back down to broward to see what the peacocks are doing down there this week. The canal bite was completely dead. Only saw a few fish and they were not interested in anything thrown at them, including live bait. These canals depend on water flow in many spots, and with no rain, well.... The key lately has been fishing lakes and ponds and finding schooling fish. I ended the day with five fish, this being the largest.

I'm heading down on Friday to Miami to search for my first peacock. I think I'll probably stick to live baits but I'm excited!

Yes that one is a real big female. Males usually have at least a tiny protrusion letting you know it's a
Male. It gets larger during pre spawn and spawn

never done Broward county but seems like its not to bad.. Nice Catch any weight ?

This was a good one, didn't get a weight but around 4lbs. I won't say a fish weighed xlbs unless I actually weighed it. These fish never weigh out why you think they will. I laugh at guys when they tell me they catch 6lb peacocks all the time, then they show me
