A police officer shot David Sweat, escaped murderer from a correctional facility, and HE WAS UNARMED.
Another criminal police shooting!,

Actually he should be suspended for not shooting the guy and killing him and saving all of us taxpayers some money.
Now we treat him, cure him and send him to a prison to be clothed and fed for another 20 years

Well....considering that the death penalty is slowly going away and there will no longer be executioners.........he could have saved us some money.
The other guy ( Matt) got 3 shots to the head. Pretty impressive shooting! But he was armed so it does not count.

The fact that he was "unarmed" is of no consequence...

FSS 776.06 (1) A law enforcement officer or other person who has an arrested person in his or her custody is justified in the use of any force which he or she reasonably believes to be necessary to prevent the escape of the arrested person from custody.
(2) A correctional officer or other law enforcement officer is justified in the use of force, including deadly force, which he or she reasonably believes to be necessary to prevent the escape from a penal institution of a person whom the officer reasonably believes to be lawfully detained in such institution under sentence for an offense or awaiting trial or commitment for an offense.

So my interpretation of that law is if you escape from an institution from which you are already serving your sentence and I as an LEO find you and order you to stop and you do not then I have to ability to shoot you whether you are armed or not.
