Highlands Hammock camping.

I'm going camping to Highlands Hammock near Sebring in Nov. I will have a canoe man powered. Have not fished this area before. Close to a lot of lakes. Looks like Lake Istokpoga, from what I've researched, is a good specks lake, with a canoe, not sure if I can find them. I would also like to hunt some frogs.
Any feedback from folks who fish this area would be appreciated.

Istokpoga is a great speck lake. If there is wind you might need to consider the Kissimmee River. There are Specks in the Kissimmee River, I am not an expert at finding them, I am thinking someone suggested lily pads.

If you luck into a calm day in November you might try drifting Istokpoga with jigs /minnows in your canoe. I am going tonight to fish Istokpoga with lights and minnows for bait. We drive around till we see some specks on the fishfinder and have had great luck in the Pontoon boat. There has been someone who takes folks out at night for a price, if you have any interest I will see if I can get you a name.
