Weekend of July 9!

Hi all i will be coming down to EC on july 9th for a weekend. I am bringing some guys with me that have never been before and want to give them a good chance at catching some fish. What is my best bet for redfish and snook that time of year and are the cobia still around if we can sneak offshore on one of those days. We are staying at the rod and gun club so will be going out of barron river. Thanks.

hmm, not wild about the high tides at dawn and dusk those days, but live chum and cut ladies can bring scattered fish to you. Work the many outside points and passes north and south of Indian Key when the sun is low, siesta time noon to 4pm. Downtown EVC along the Barron can be great for big snook (and skeeters) after dark, just use the troller to work the shorelines, docks and pilings.

Thanks Bobber I will try that. Have had mixed luck on previous trips but have fished mostly artificial.

The bars just across the bay just off the channel from rod n gun on the in can be Awesome top water action morning n night lil poons will eat em too in the deeper holes around there. Ill throw a spook all day sometimes cause im a topwater junky but deens on the bars and rattle traps on the deeper shorelines work but I usually tie on a Doa copper crush 1/4oz shrimp for working areas a lil slower around bars n shorelines
