Late post from Sunday at CK

My fiancé and I finally had a day off together between her work schedule and my school/work schedule so we loaded the rods up and joined my parents in cedar key for a day of fishing. High tide was around 6 in the afternoon so we didn't leave the number 4 ramp until around 12:30. We hit some bars around korrigans reef and found plenty of catfish and stingray so we continued to head back west trying outside bars waiting on some water to come in. Around 2 we found our first few cobs and I landed a legal flounder. Then it was the Jennibelle show haha she was the only one landing any reds and eventually she found a healthy a trout to throw in the box. The water finally moved in some so we hit grass points and such looking for bigger reds. Around 5:30, I still couldn't catch a red but my mom and fiancé were catching the shorts left and right. A storm from crystal River was sweeping across the bay quickly so we made our last stop right as high tide was setting in... Grrrr.... I made a cast right at a tailing drum and handed the rod over to Jennibelle. Simultaneously, Jennibelle and my dad set the hook! Dad pulls in a nice 25 inch red and I helped JB land her first big ugly weighing in around 35 - 40 lbs! The rain hit us as we passed live oak point and we had to leave right as the tide was getting good. We loaded the boat and headed to Robinsons seafood for dinner and called it a day.

Good job getting on the fish. Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. It looks a lot calmer than I thought it was going to be on Sunday. We've all been schooled by our wives or girlfriends a time or two or three. :grin
