PC 5/22- Was fishing off today or do I need to sell my stuff?

Left the port at 6:30am and headed east. Lines in at 165 with scattered weeds. No major signs of life so we worked out to 400. No more signs of life then inside so we sig-zaged back and forth for almost 8 hours. One knock down and a miss and one barracuda. WHAT went wrong today? How did you all do? radio was quite except for one sailfish. Around 3pm we run south to ledges in 90 feet and land three nice mangos and a 22lb cobia. At least some meat. Pics in the morning.

Ride out- great morning ride

I don't know what's up. I was pondering how much I could get for my boat and tackle. I was just trolling and started at 300 after not seeing a sign of life. No fliers no birds and only a few boats. I worked my way back in and only saw two fliers, the last on was near a pot marker so I gave it a few close passes and had a bait taken but no hookup except for the pot marker. Better luck next time.

Nature of the pelagics fishing game. They are everywhere or no where. In 3 days of fishing the last week we were consistently on fish. Last week they were in 138 feet on the color change. This week they were on the edge of the stream. 250 ish. 35 miles east of PC. The best rip I've seen this year. Never made it to 300. With the east wind past two weeks the fish seemed concentrated on the west wall of Gulf Stream. A few birds and tons of flyers each day.

it happens, how was the water temp? Maybe getting a little hot, so they may be going down deeper. Using teasers, planers, or downriggers might help you out. Get your baits down deeper into cooler water, teasers to bring them up.

What's for sale? Unless you have patience and dedication, you'll never be happy! If you don't enjoy the pursuit, sell your stuff and hire a charter. It doesn't get easier, or cheaper than that. Otherwise, shut up and fish!

Temp was 80.1 -83. Fished 36 fish teaser bar dee and bird teaser on top. Ran one rig with 32 oz inline weight for deeper water. It was fun staying busy changing out gear.

Gator-hook your so knowledgeable....or a donkey" the post was more for humor and to see if anyone else struggled. The pursuit is the best part with great friends. Meat in the box is never guaranteed and makes it a much better challenge. Been add it for over 20 years and don't plan on going away. So did you make it out? have not seen a post form you lately about your great catches.

I fished out of Saint Augustine and picked up 4 Mahi while covering 140 miles. It's been a strange year...No great rips up here either

Sounds like you figured out what you should be doing right now.. The Dolphin bite you saw a couple weeks ago was some cool water moving through, the dolphin bite isn't here right now because the temp breaks are weak due to a weak moon. It will be better as the moon the builds, get on the bottom!!!

Call me what you want! Your thread title asked for it! It's all humor to me, I don't get offended by others easily as alot of the softys here. It hurts to say i haven't hit the blue water in 2 months. Stinky river reports are not my thing, but I have been catching!
I overlook the ocean everyday, the bait pods haven't shown up yet in full force. When they do.....
    Ahhh the pursuit.
