We made a trip to the other side on May 21st looking for massive weed lines, big Dolphin and Tuna.
Nice ride southeast at 40 mph and did not cross a single fishable weed line , birds or debris along the way.
Began marking birds and fished them without much happening till the 3rd pack when we hang the Man on a red/white cedar plug. We were fishing stand up, with a Turez rod & Talaca 16 w/65 braid.
Fish was hot and moving good to the east. We ran her down and started the battle. 45 minutes later we had a good release and the man made safe travels back down to the depths below.
We continued to work our way northeast hitting more birds and picked off some small Blackfins and small dolphin.
Headed west and never saw anything fishable along the way. Water was up to 85 degrees and flat calm most of the day. Headed in when the storms started building along the coast north of the port.
It was a memorable day with Fred on the fish and Dale at the helm and leadering the fish.
Tightlines,
Ron
