The last few nights that I have been able to get out have been really productive. Some spring mullet are starting to show up, so I have been using some larger artificial's. Targeting small schools of mullet when you can find them, and fishing swimbaits low and slow around bridges and seawalls have been key.
nice fish! how do the spool tec lures hold up after a couple fish?
They hold up really well. Leader deployes ever time. Ive slammed them against bridge pillings and docks and thought they where gana come back cracked. No cracks so far. Some times the tails get torn off like any other swimbait. But they sale replacement tails that are cheap !!!
x2 and how do you like to fish them?[/QUOT If I see that the fish are really active on top, i start my retrieve as soon as the lure hits the water. I've caught a lot of fish bouncing the bottom with them. Let it hit bottom, reel a couple of turns, let it hit bottom again and repeat. Or just on a slow steady retrieve.
Nice fish . I quit using live bait around town for snook years ago. I keep three rods rigged identically with swim baits. less time catching bait, more time fishing. Great job!
Subtle spool tek marketing. I'll stick with my jigs. 20 dollar lures lol
Don't be mad cause you get skunked a lot SkunkLife. Maybe if you spend a little money you will catch fish. I'm throwing ddx's , firstights, and wind cheaters when I'm not throwing the spooltek. And if you don't loose 20$ worth of jigs when your fishing, your not fishing them right!! There's a time and place for each lure !!!!

Thanks bud !!Same thing here !!! You cover way more water fishing artificial.. I'm throwing straight artificials this year.
Those are great swimbaits. I could care less that they cost around $20. I easily lose 20 bucks worth of jigs a night at Sebastian, and there have been many days at Jupiter where I couldn't get offshore, and paid Mr Sportsman a pretty penny for snook candy. If I can catch 5 upper slot to over slot snook on a $20 swimbait, I'm good.
