Bad luck..on a good day.

I was suppose to take my brother out fishing for his birthday (75) but the weather was iffy last night and he just got over a bad cold so...
I get out and miss a small snook right at the boat.... Next spot I get a mid slot Red...and put it in the well...I'm laying in a supply to bring to my daughter in Maryland...she was raised on fresh fish and they just can't get any decent stuff ...that isn't twice the price of steak..so..
Keep at it and have a small snook come off half way in on a jump...this will come back to haunt me. I move and get two nice trout about 17 - 18 inchers and am now looking for a snook. And here's the rest of the bad luck..
I go 0 for 4 on live bait hook ups...:banghead Then, A hook up....and...It's a 'Cuda :banghead
Then, I find some big girls but they don't want to eat... Get a shot at two layed up snook...but this Trout comes and eats the bait...

A nice fish at 25 inches...

Within a couple minutes.... another mid slot Red but it goes back in since I already have one.

Wind comes up and tide starts dropping and the bite dies....Finish up with three Trout two Reds and..a 'Cuda.

A shame when a trout that size is a disappointment.:hail Happy birthday to your brother. Younger?

No, Not disappointed...I was frustrated by not sealing the deal on a snook....especially when I had one on...seen some...and missed some opportunities.

and no smart guy...I'm the BABY brother...at 59... :rotflmao

    Today....:)

Slam #29 came pretty easy today. Wind NW and going pretty good but the first stop is a windy point hoping to get the snook monkey off my back early...but winds up being a mid slot Red...into the well for that one. Keep going and miss a couple short hits but reposition into a small trout spot and bang two with one being a keeper size on the white CAL along with a ladyfish. All this was in about 10 casts.
So, now I'm thinking of how I've been going about the quest..and decide i'll try a spot that I missed a snook yesterday that is pretty close so i'm not wasting time driving around. After a missed fish at the boat...and then a sub slot Red...I get this....

NOT a mogan...but the target species.
and it is only 7:50... keep working and pick up two more Trout with one a nice one about 20 inches....AND...another snook.

Make a move and hit another windy point but nothing there but as I'm leaving I try a secondary point and get another mid slot Red...

8:50 AM...and with four Trout... three Reds... and two Snook..and a ladyfish..I head to the ramp so I can do some chores today....

Love seeing all these reports, Joe. I will be fishing down there for 4 days next week, and hope to have similar luck! Maybe we'll see you out there.
