Palm Island Memorial Week

Going to be on Palm Island Memorial Day Week.

What can we expect to be biting that time of year?(besides no-see-ums and mosquitoes)

We plan on fishing from the dock and beach. We might rent a boat.

Thanks.

The docks back in the ICW seem to be lacking the life they used to have. Not even much pin fish back there anymore. Should be snook on the beach and trout at dusk if there is schools of bait. Bring a castnet and net some greenbacks. Might be able to get some mackerel in stump pass. Fishing isn't predictable like it used to be there. Just bring some gulp and hooks for live bait and hope for the best.

    Dock lights after dark.

Tarpon along the beach in the morning/afternoon. Tarpon in the passes during the afternoon flush of the new/full moon phases.

    Snook in/near the passes.

    Good luck.

Do you actually catch tarpon from the shore of Palm island??? Been fishing there for over 10 years and only hooked 1 maybe 2 and only seen about a half dozen.
