4/8 Good day at Yankeetown...

Launched from the barge canal and ran out to some outer oyster beds and barrier island where the wife outfished me all day, were able to land a small red, keeper trout and nice flounder. Keep pounding these areas with artificials and landing another slot red some ladyfish and a few jacks. Decided to run in close as the tide changed and checked some of the marsh areas. We saw some big tails pop up in about 3 foot of water. Have heard of big black drum in these areas, but had no live crabs. Could have swore a few were reds mixed in. After many very good casts from both of us, Libby had a monster on. 15 mins and a few laps around the bout she had her fist black drum landed. A good day on the water for an area we have never fished.
