Check out the latest in misinformation from The Charter Fisherman's Association Facebook page;

"An interesting piece on the Red Snapper situation from a whole new perspective!"
http://www.facebook.com/CharterFA?fref=nf

http://www.tampabay.com/opinion/columns/column-commission-ignores-science-in-setting-red-snapper-rules/2222224#comments

Of course, The Charter Fisherman's Association once again attempts to mislead you - a whole new perspective? Really? Portraying the author as a owner and operator of a boat dealership in Tarpon Springs giving a "new perspective" when in reality the author is a commercial snapper fisherman;

http://tbtpics.tampabay.com/opinion/columns/column-manage-recreational-fishing-to-protect-stocks/2189918

"...As the owner of a boat dealership, I'm an avid angler. So much so, I even dabble in commercial fishing as another way to expand my opportunities to fish, though I bring these fish to market for others to enjoy...."

A whole new perspective? No, just more of the same misrepresentation and veiling of financial interests to give a false "new perspective" when in reality it is the same old snake oil pitch to sell their false promises of a better solution called Amendment 40.

These people have absolutely no credibility or shame.

The dude holds ARS IFQ`s. I find the word "dabble" to be quite ironic. Isn`t it nice of him to bring fish to the market for others to enjoy? I doubt he does that out of the goodness of his heart. Seems to me that Brad is more worried about the state taking control of the ARS fishery away from the Fed`s, and thus doing away with his precious IFQ`s. It really is not too hard to see through the smoke and mirrors, all you have to do is look!

Update - The block from my being able to post on the Charter Fisherman's Association (CFA) Facebook page has been removed and I have been invited to post there again. There was initial confusion as to whether or not I was a "real" person with a legitimate Facebook account because my Facebook page is set up for maximum privacy.

Once I contacted CFA reps via Facebook messaging and explained the situation my posting privileges were restored.

Don't bother going on to the CFA facebook page to try and discuss the issue. They will block you and prevent you from posting. I was called an anonymous poster and blocked because my facebook page is set up for privacy so that only my friends can see what I'm posting. The real reason I was blocked is they are not open to any debate.

That's what people do when they can't stand on the merits of their argument - they control the dialogue so that those who disagree with their stance are prohibited from participating in the discussion. It also allows them to make false and misleading claims such as the commercial IFQ holder masking his financial interest in his propaganda article, but the truth ALWAYS surfaces somewhere anyway.

Lying scumbags comes to mind for some reason...

I haven't gotten banned from them yet but I don't let my emotions get the best of me. This group is trying everything they can to persuade people to believe their nonsense. They are throwing everything they got into the water trying to get a bite and keep coming up empty, really think when this debacle is over they are going to wish they hadn't started this whole sector separation garbage.

None of my posts contained profanity and I was not abusive either. Their excuse for deleting me was that I was anonymous....

Scott Hickman and Tom Ard were claiming I was posting under a fake name - Billy Sharpe I think. Whoever was posting as Billy Sharpe offered up a $2,500 bet it wasn't true, and I did as well but of course they didn't take it. They are living in a fantasy world of conspiracy theories.

What was really funny was that on their FB page they are blaming states for the virtually non-existent federal season
but then responding to a question on why they are not fighting 30b so they can fish states waters responded with "there
really is not a ARS state fishery....and 30b does not really hurt us". Same conversation same CFA member.....talking out
of both sides of the mouth.

    Brad's a good guy.

He does dabble in commercial fishing, definitely not a full timer..

Course that's hard to see from Texas.
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.

Or was it maybe because they read here and are covering their azzes?:shrug
THERE SHOULD BE NO COMMERCIAL FISHING ALLOWED FOR ANY SPECIES THAT IS CONSIDERED OVERFISHED.

I see Tom Ard on the CFA FB page (Huckleberry, T-Total, Tin Foil Hat, Fairwaterfishing, Billy Sharpe, etc. etc.) is claiming that someone is using multiple fake aliases on FB - pretty funny. What a dolt. He won't take the $2,500 bet that he is wrong, but that doesn't stop him from making false accusations.

I'm afraid I'm not up to speed on the new rules and infraction points that you assessed me in your PM.
I certainly didn't mean to break any rules that you have set in CONFRON, I just followed suit from your example...

I'll certainly keep a civil tongue if you and your minions will..

    Not enough......
The peanuts and beer took its toll. I had to fart really bad. I would normally ease away and let it out. I thought it was time for her to grow up.

Am I questioning your character? No sir! I don`t make it a habit to judge folks I don`t know.
I was merely agreeing with Mod that yet another thread had been derailed by you. And that in fact seems to happen quite often.
Who am I? I am a fourth generation Floridian and a avid recreational angler and hunter.

Anyone can be a recreational fisherman and can also be blamed for taking red snapper, even if he has never done so, apparently even commercial fishermen are joining in on the recreational take, it is that good, apparently. It is hard to understand how recreational fishermen are taking virtually all of their red snapper from state waters (the bare fringes of the fishes range) these days, according to NOAA anyway, so who is the rest of the Gulf of Mexico red snapper fishery reserved for??

Well Gibby, by some standards 4th generation could be only 50 years depending on the straightness of the family tree.

Derail? Sure, anytime the rules are broken by the powers that be or their minions I'll give it right back... Pot meet kettle so to speak.

your quote(I don`t make it a habit to judge folks I don`t know.), but some on here sure do!

    * A subordinate official, especially a servile one.

Getting back to the topic of this thread.

Brad Kenyon is on the Board of Directors of the Gulf Fishermen Association - a COMMERCIAL fishing front group for EDF.

Another pertinent fact omitted in his propaganda piece.
