Charlotte harbor piers

Gonna be visiting the parents in Port Charlotte next week and might be able to get away and wet a line for a couple 2-3 hours. Was thinking about hitting up a pier, possibly Bay shore, Laishley, Gillchrist, or Ponce De Leon. What are some of your suggestions? What might be biting and what kind of rigs. Do I need to buy a license to fish from these piers? I've been frozen in here in Va Beach and am fiending for some pullage. Thanks for any help

I would walk the seawall from gillcrest all the way around past lashily. Throwing a hard stick bait tight against the wall. Reds, snook and trout.

The pier on the Myakka River at El Jobean is always good fishing.
    You will need a license!
