I know reading is not your strong suit but rice is grain - get the dog 100% off grain. Taste of the Wild and Blue Buffalo should both be available - read the ingredients. No rice corn or soy.
Starting many years ago we have somehow evolved to be a boxer family.
Unfortunately boxers usually do not live that long.

If you read "the ingredients" listed by Blue Buffalo on its website you find barley, oats, millet, rye, brown rice, flax & lentils - all grains.
Not in the grain free products they offer. Lentils are legumes by the way.
Do you regularly argue with inanimate objects? Do they think you are combative and uninformed like we all do?

If you read the ingredients as closely as I have, even the non chicken flavored products have chicken in them. We believe he is allergic to chicken as well. No rice, no grain, no corn, no wheat etc in his food
Try giving him a Snickers bar. He might just be hungry and isn't who he really is when he is hungry.
Ranger might be a good candidate for "Raw" feeding. JB knows about that if you have questions.
The peanuts and beer took its toll. I had to fart really bad. I would normally ease away and let it out. I thought it was time for her to grow up. It was a varoooom! It shook the pine needles off the trees. She broke and ran.
"Daddy, you stink!"
She's my best buddy to this day! You never know how these things will work out!

It confuses the dog with it's place in the pack ... a dog likes being treated like a dog much more than being treated as if he were some sort of little human in a fur suit
That's why a lot of dogs are neurotic ... and a pain to be around ... because they really don't know how to behave as a dog ... they keep trying and failing to be someone's 'precious woofie' ... who they treat just like he's one of the family ... he's not ... he's a dog ... treat him like a dog and there will be pleasure in his company ... treat him like a baby and he will be a neurotic mess and a PITA to be around
That's my opinion ... backed by many years of watching people being trained by their dogs

We treat ranger like a family member. He is not a PITA though. If he is told to go lay down, leave us alone or get off something he does.
OK ... your dog behaves differently than the other ones I've seen ... it's rare that I see anyone who has a dog that will obey even the most basic of commands ... most are the type who pull on their leash constantly and yap a lot or if you go to their house they will not leave you alone ...

you ever set up a camera and watch your dog? I do that on occasion. Feel bad for him, he just kinda sits by the door staring out, waiting. Gets up, eats, barks at something, goes back by the door, repeat 47 times lol

If the girls aren't home he doesn't even bark at the stupid stuff he barks at when they are home. He naps and waits for their return.
I can only guess he thinks he doesn't have to protect me from the truck/car going down the road.

Hahahahahahahahahaha.....and I really am laughing....
In some instances you may have a point there....
In the 90's a buddy of mine and his wife had one of them "border collie" herding dogs...nice dog, but they appear to need lots of running time during the day or they get into mischief.
Well...the dog decides to rip chitty diapers out of a container and festoon the house with them while he and the family were out.
I showed up around the time they got home and his "master" was mad as hell and was gonna give that dog "what-fer" and the dog just wasn't having it.
A fight ensued and the dog decided that it was time for a change in the "head of the pack" and just kicked the snot out of my buddy.
I thought that this was funny as hell.....all the screaming, blood, growling....and such....that I rolled around on the ground laughing so hard I couldn't breath.....the really funny part was when the dog was done giving him "what-fer" he came over and rolled around with me...
Not much longer after that...my buddy and his wife broke up and she took the dog....
To those with dogs having food/allergy issues, I will share some information obtained from Matthew J. Ryan (UPenn School of Veterinary Medicine). I took my chocolate lab there for a dermatology consult. She was licking her paws and having some outbreaks like acne. I learned from a dermatologist that there is one food known to have no allergic reactions to any dog. That food is sweat potato. If you suspect your dog is having allergy issues, skin or otherwise, put the dog ONLY on sweat potato food and treats. When you have the dog back to normal, you can then reintroduce one other type of food at a time. You can also have a skin test performed on your dog. Another thing many dogs suffer from is dust mite dander. This does not mean you rip out all your carpeting and replace with new. You will have dust mites again in no time. You can not get entirely rid of them. You can however significantly reduce the amount/load. We kept and keep a clean house and regulsrly vacuum. When I found out my girl was positive to dust mite dander, I researched what vacuum was best and/or had an allergy accreditation. A Dyson vacuum was found to be the solution for my dog and she in short order was again a happy girl. Sadly she is now gone. Many generations later, here is another chocolate lab who is related to her. She turns two this month.

Lock the wife in the trunk and the dog in another trunk, see who's happy to see you when you open it.

Definitely my "Friend" of choice.....
My last BL was named "Ruby" because of the color of her wonderful eyes....
She was my "bestest friend" and loved me like no other....
It's been 45 years ....and a tear still comes to my eye when I think about her....which has been constantly.....for 45 years.
And though I don't believe that I deserve it....if God see's fit to allow me to enter heaven...I know that my Ruby will be there waiting for me...
that's not doing the dogs any favors
Every morning, and just about any time he feels like it. He is not stubborn about it, if one of us tell him to move it happens fast with out yelling.
He goes to dog parks and dog schools.
I have a dog.
