How is the cold treating you.

At the risk of sounding selfish, I am wondering how FL is fairing during this cold snap. I normally spend july in vero on family vaction and spend the month chasing snook. Are you experiencing condition similar to when the fish kill happened a few years ago?

No, the fish kill we had weeks that never got over 45 degrees, in East central we have only had a few real cold day this year. We have had cold weather, but not as cold as last year. This year is strange in as we have had lots of short cold fronts, but temps have not dropped for long. Now, today is the coldest day of the year in East central. We got to 33 degrees this morning, but will be 75 plus this weekend.I caught Snook in January in East central. Water temps have been in the mid fifties in AM going up to low sixties by noon.

As for me I'll probably hits the flat here in central Brevard next week if the wind behaves.

Water temp was 55.89 today in Kemp channel off Cudjoe key. Tending my stone crab traps (less than 45 min) I saw two fish float by. 1 dead & 1 barely flipping. Hope things warm up.

I hate the cold. But this week looks great and I will be on the flats at least a couple times during extended lunch breaks. The ONLY fringe benefit I have being self employed and I do use it as often as possible.

Last week was nice, a little cloudy but managed two reds. Didn't even need waders as the water temp. was great.
Hoping for more this week.
