Shes finished and hauled her home tonight. A 2015 16' Salt Marsh Skiff made by the same folks that make Ankona skiffs. Power is a 40 hp four stroke tohatsu on a jackplate. Still about 2 weeks out as I gotta run her up to Ocala tomorrow for a custom trailer. Just wanted to share and I'll see yall in the skinny water again soon.

Sweet, simple, clean. Looking forward to your thoughts on it after running home through the back bays on a 20kt north wind. For some reason I thought you were getting the LC16?

I had originally considered rebuilding another little skiff I have, but after meeting Mel and seeing his salt marsh skiff at the Lauderdale show, I decided to go that way. It's a little boat, and while I will run a few trips on it, my charterboat is our tower boat. This one is sort of a dual role, as when I'm not on trips, I wanna be fishing. So this should fit the bill. Just a simple no frills skiff that I can catch some fish in as affordable as possible.
On the ride in the chop comment, haha your talking to the king of kidney bruising, 24' proline flatback, came out of a 21' tunnel hull flat bottom aluminum, this should be gravy. But I will give an honest report once I start running her.

Awesome, man! I saw that boat on the Salt Marsh facebook page (I like their boats) and it said it was headed to the Ten Thousand Islands. I am looking forward to seeing it in action around Port of the Islands.
(I'm the guy you always see cruising around with the 14' twin-outboard Starcraft with the blonde girl up front, haha. Not too many tin boats around here with 36 horses hanging off the back)

I've yet to get her in the water, dropped it off last week at the trailer shop for a custom trailer. Should be done this week but I'll be at the Miami Boat Shiw and can't get it till next week. The suspense is killing me.

Well the Miami Boat Show is done, fishing tomorrow and Wednesday, but a look a the weather says Wednesday may be a wash. If that's the case I'll go and pick her up on Wednesday, fwc meeting Thursday then finally finally gonna get my boat wet this weekend. This has been tough, like opening a Christmas as a kid, then any touch it for two week, ahh well almost done.

Mega, poi will be on my radar very soon with this boat. Gonna be looking for you
You bet, Brother. If it stays cold like this, I will race you up the Whitney or the Little Wood, haha. I have to fish out of Key Biscayne this weekend, but after that is done I will back to my usual 3-days-a-week fishing at home. Once the water temps come up a bit and the early Tarpon vanguards start popping up, I will get back to weekday night fishing after work. The night bite has stunk all of February so far.
Looking forward to seeing your new rig in person.
