It really depends who their starting QB will be! Clemson, GT, and Louisville are test them.

I like using "win shares" like I did last year:

We have a ton of questions right now, I'll give another analysis after signing day!

    Texas state: 1.00
    USF : 0.85
    Boston College: 0.75
    Wake Forrest: 0.85
Miami: 0.65 (Rivalry game, anything can happen)
    L'ville: 0.65
    Georgia Tech: 0.45
    Syracuse: 0.90
    Clemson: 0.50
    NC State: 0.75
    UChatt: 1.00
    UF: 0.70

Really quickly, that comes to 8.7 wins, I'll say we go 9-3 next year (with 10-2 more likely than 8-4)

    1. Clemson is close to a national title type roster right now, we'll lose to them @ Death Valley as long as their phenom QB Watson is healthy.
    2. We lose to GT in Atlanta with only a week to prepare for the triple option and a team that beat UGA and Miss State to end the year.
    3. One "****" game due to the new QB.

7 bowl teams on the schedule, terrible OOC.

Our O-line and Running game (Dalvin Cook) will win us quite a few conference games.

I say our team is still better than UM & UF again this year, so we'll be state champs once again. Jimbo has never lost to Miami (5-0) and is 4-1 vs UF.

Clemson vs GT in the ACC title game.

Best case scenario: ACC title and Orange Bowl berth
Worst case: 8-4 with a respectable bowl game versus the 3rd or 4th place SEC team or ND.

Buckeye, who are our 4 losses (GT, Clemson, L'ville and UF or UM?)

GT, Clemson, Louisville and a "**** game" (BC probably).

Wouldn't be surprised to see UF win one either.

A team that's a lot better than New Mexico State (see UF's 2015 schedule).

I will say 10-3 for FSU in 2015

Looks like the want that bye week before Wake Forrest. LOL. Not going to let that happen again.

No, we have a bye because of the Friday game. The same thing happens to any teams that play Thursday games, NCAA rule I believe.

    What the Farva......A Friday game?
  • ZimmerNoleZimmerNole Posts: 9,243 Admiral
    What about UF:

    New mexico State: 1.00
    East Carolina: 0.70
    Kentucky: 0.70
    Tennessee: 0.50
    Ole Miss 0.50
    Mizzou: 0.60
    LSU: 0.30
    UGA: 0.50
    VAndy: 0.80
    USC: 0.50
    FAU: 1.00
    FSU: 0.30

    I get 7.4, call it a 7-5 or a 8-4 season, with a miracle at 9-3.

    FWIW
For the second time in three seasons, FSU won’t play on a Thursday. The Seminoles will, however, play on a Friday night when they visit Boston College on Sept. 18. It marks Florida State’s first Friday game since their 2004 contest at Miami, which was originally scheduled for a Monday but was postponed by tropical storms. FSU has played on a Friday 30 times in school history, including eight bowl games.

Other than bowl games I do not recall an Ohio State game ever being on a day other than Saturday.

I didn't recall playing Thursday games until the ACC signed a stupid **** contract with ESPN to play one per year. Very stupid IMHO.

The PAC12 signed a similar contract.

I guess the revenue is worth it, although the games aren't heavily attended, classes are cancelled etc.

FSU will never host a thursday game unless it;s due to an emergency, see post #17

Thursday games are not really that terrible of a thing. It is a good thing to have a marque program playing mid week. Sort of makes the wait until Saturday easier and gives exposure to teams some may not otherwise watch.

Friday night though? Uh, that is pretty much reserved for high school where I come from.

Seems like playing on "any day but Saturday" is a regular thing for FSU, at least according to post #17?

Most of my childhood Ohio State played at noon on Saturday. There were usually only scattered 3:30 starts and I don't recall any night games until about 2006. Seemed like half of last year's season was under the lights. Personally, I don't care for the night games, but it is good exposure I guess. I don't think Ohio State installed permanent lights until 2012 or 2013.
