Trolling motor question

I currently have a Minn Kota with remote. Anyone have any experience with the motor guide xi5? My biggest concern with the minnkota is the sounds that it makes. Every time you steer the gear sounds are loud enough to spook fish especially when you are in very shallow water. The beeping sounds when you increase the power is also very annoying. Does anyone have a motor guide xi5? Is it as quiet as they advertise? Thanks

Bump for good question. Looking forward to the answers as I'm in the market for upgrade. I'm not liking the looks of the remote though. Kinda boxy.

How do you turn off the beeping sound? Hopefully someone with an xi5 can tell us how that motor performs. thx

I read somewhere you can turn the beep off as well on my 112 but nit 100% sure as it doesnt bother me but I aint on the flats in stealth mode either.

Try posting this in Boating forum....might get a broader audience across regions instead if just NE.

As far as upgrading and better anchoring...look into Rhodan as well...heard good things but havent experienced both. My Ipilot does tend to get a touch squirelly in heavy wind and current when first positioning off of a drift, but once in place, points into it and holds steady.
